M33 (NGC 598)

The Messier's description

  Nébuleuse découverte entre la tête du Poisson boréal & le grand Triangle, à peu de distance d'une étoile de 6e grandeur: la nébuleuse est d'une lumière blanchâtre, d'une densité presqu'égale, cependant un peu plus lumineuse aux deux tiers de son diamètre, & ne contient aucune étoile. On la voit difficilement avec une lunette ordinaire d'un pied. Sa position deteminée en la comparant à a du Triangle. Revue le 27 Sept. 1780. 

 Nebula discovered between the head of the northern Fish and the great Triangle, not far from a star of 6th mag.: the nebula is a whitish light, of almost even density, nevertheless a little brighter for two-thirds of its diameter, and contains no star. Seen with difficulty in a 1-foot telescope. Its position determined in comparison with a Trianguli. Reviewed 1780, September 27. 

 Nebulosa scoperta tra la testa delPesce boreale e il grande Triangolo, a poca distanza da una stella di 6a magnitudine: la nebulosa é di una luce biancastra, d'una densità pressocché uguale, ma un po' più luminosa a due terzi del suo diametro, e non contiene stelle. La si vede con difficoltà con un ordinario telescopio da un piede [lf]. La sua posizione é stata determinata in base a a Trianguli. Rivista il 27 settembre 1780.
