M92 (NGC6341)

The Messier's description

 Nébuleuse, belle, apparente,& d'un grande lumière, entre le genou & la jambe gauche d'Hercule, se voit très-bien avec une lunette d'un pied. Elle ne contient aucune étoile; le centre en est clair & brillant, environné de nébulosité & ressemble au noyau d'une grosse Comète: sa lumière, sa grandeur, approchent beaucoup de la nébuleuse qui est dans la ceinture d'Hercule. Voyez n° 13 de ce Catalogue: sa position a été déterminée, en la comparant directement à l'étoile s d'Hercule, quatrième grandeur: la nébuleuse & l'étoile sur le même parallèle. 

 Nebula, fine, conspicuous and of a great light, between the knee and left leg of Hercules; seen very well in a one-foot telescope, it contains no star, the centre is clear and bright, surrounded by nebulosity and it resembles the nucleus of a large comet. In size and brightness it closely resembles the nebula which is in the belt of Hercules -- see No. 13 of this catalogue. Its position has been determined by direct comparison with the star s Herculis, 4th mag.: the nebula and the star are on the same parallel. 

 Nebulosa bella, cospicua e di grande luminosità, tra il ginocchio e la gamba sinistra di Ercole, si vede benissimo con un telescopio da un piede. Non contiene alcuna stella; il centro é chiaro e brillante, avvolto da nebulosità e somiglia al nucleo di una grossa cometa: la sua luce, la sua grandezza, si avvicinano molto alla nebulosa che si trova nella cintura di Ercole: vedi il n° 13 di questo catalogo. La posizione é stata detrminata direttamente dalla stella s di Ercole, quarta magnitudione: la nebulosa e la stella sono sullo stesso parallelo.
